Halloween has Arthur spooked! When his little sister wanders off into the scariest house on the street, Arthur has to find the courage to go in and save her. Will Arthur and D.W. make it out alive?

My Review:

Since Halloween is coming up, I thought I would do a Halloween themed book! Ever since I was a little kid I have loved the Arthur books and TV show. This is one that I read every year!

This book follows Arthur as he battles with his fears of Halloween, which includes D.W.’s costume, a scary school snack, and the big house on the corner. Arthur is such a funny character. When he is at school he won’t try the Batwing Brownies or the Vampire Blood snacks, and freaks out about the fake eyeballs, heart, and brains.

I found the illustrations to be a tad bit spooky with a hint of humor. I loved the depictions of Mrs. Tibble’s house, the cats, and the costumes.

This is a great story to read aloud for kids and I highly recommend it for school, home, and public library collections.
